The Micromounters of New England
The Micromounters of New England was organized on November 8, 1966 for the purpose of promoting the study of minerals that require a microscope. We encourage young people to join our club and we offer a discounted rate for youth memberships. We welcome non-members to visit our monthly meetings.
Next meeting
Next club meeting will be held:
Saturday, October 19th, 2024 / 9am-12pm
Trinity Lutheran Church
170 Old Westford Rd, Chelmsford MA
What We Do:
As the name implies, we are unique, different from other mineral clubs, and we try to emphasize this difference. Most (but not all) of our members already have a basic knowledge of minerals and are members of one or more unspecialized mineral clubs. We restrict our programs and published articles to items relating to micromounting and we focus on localities in or adjacent to New England.
Part of the meeting, usually starting at 11am, is also held via Zoom. The link to connect is reported in the last newsletter and sent via email to members.
Future Meetings:
October 19th, November 16th
Annual Symposium
The Gene Bearss Annual Micromounter’s Symposium will be held:
Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 9am-3pm
Trinity Lutheran Church
170 Old Westford Rd, Chelmsford MA.
Biggest meeting of the year!
This event is open to everyone, not just club members, all are welcome! For many the symposium is the only micromounter meeting they attend all year. It is a doozy! Featured speakers, door prizes, give-aways galore, sales tables, catered lunch, and more! The admission fee is $25 and includes a catered lunch!
